Getting around Ho Chi Minh City is fairly easy. GrabCar and Green SM are convenient and usually more affordable than traditional taxis, so we recommend downloading the apps before your trip.
You can also explore the city by bus, metro, or motorbike if you’re feeling adventurous.
-
We recommend staying in District 1, District 3, or Thảo Điền.
District 1 for convenience, District 3 for a more local feel, and Thảo Điền for a quieter, more relaxed stay.
Airbnbs are generally reliable, but feel free to sense-check with us before booking.
Hotel groups like MVillage, Accor, Hyatt, and Hilton are also great options across the city. -
Depending on your nationality - you may be required for visa to Vietnam. Please check with your respective consulate on this. As per all travel visas, you will need one clear page (per visa) in a full passport that is valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of your departure from Vietnam.
Please follow the instructions on this website to get your e-visa. Make sure to use your FULL NAME on the passport.

ESIMS
We recommend setting up an eSIM before you arrive, or purchasing a local SIM once you’re at the airport.
AirAlo is also a reliable option!
AT THE AIRPORT
Immigration lines can be long, so we recommend booking a Fast Track Pass through Klook before you arrive.
They will contact you via Whatsapp the day before you arrive, and the rest will be a breeze!
ELECTRICITY
In Vietnam the standard voltage is 220V. The standard frequency is 50 Hz. The power sockets that are used are of type A / C / G. (These are your two pin plugs.)CASH
Cards/Apple Pay are widely accepted at hotels, restaurants and larger shops, but cash is still useful for smaller purchases and street food.
TIPPING
No tipping in Vietnam!
